COLLECTION OF DOMESTIC WASTE AND RECYCLING

In Cocagne, the weekly garbage collecting is on Tuesday mornings with the exception of Murray road and route 535 west from #644 which is Wednesday morning. We advise you to put your waste on the roadside the evening before the collect. Since the fall of 2016, a new waste management system has been put into place. This mandatory waste division program will have the immediate effect of improving the quality of recyclable and compostable materials sent to the sorting facilities of the South East Regional Service Commission.

Three times a year, in spring, summer and fall, there are special garbage collections for large waste such as old electrical appliances. For dates and other information, please refer to the attached chart by clicking here.

On the website of the Kent Regional Service Commission you have access to extensive information about the waste collection and recycling of different items. You can access the KRSC website by clicking here.

What is the 3 stream program?

The recycling program is a simple method to participate in composting and recycling at home and reduce the amount of waste that will be buried.

Residents of the Kent region have to separate their waste at home in three bags of different color;

  • Green bag – Organic waste
  • Blue bag – Recyclable waste
  • Clear bag – Everything else
